Getting to know cheese, from the pasture to the table, with Serra da Estrela surrounding the landscape, accompany the shepherd to the grazing fields where the Bordaleira sheep give rise to the divine flavor of Serra da Estrela cheese.
Learn how milking is done in the sheepfold, and then taste this piece of Portuguese cuisine and learn more about the history of this millenary cheese.
What is included
- Welcome to the farm
- Visit to the Sheep Pen and accompanying the flock with the shepherd to the pasture (only in the morning, 10-12am)
- Collecting the sheep from the pasture, returning to the Sheep Pen and milking experience (only in the afternoon, 5 – 6:30 pm ) – Milking just October until June
- Gastronomic Tasting (Traditional cornbread, Chouriço, Sheep’s cheese, Wine and water)
