Fresh Goat Cheese Making Experience
Not to be missed! Fatima Silva

This experience added a beautiful new dimension to our great vacation in Tavira. The experience takes you on a spectacular drive up the coastal mountains to a traditional farm house modernized by the charming hosts, Virginia and Josh. You will see the living countryside in a rural zone not frequented at all by tourists. We went on a lovely walk picking wild lavender while Virginia pointed out the local fruits and flowers in this amazing and ancient landscape. It was especially fascinating to see the cork trees and learn how the cork is harvested every ten years. In the valley we heard the bells of the local goat herd and saw the shepherd bring them in for the night. As we prepared our lavender candles we were treated to a glass of cold white wine and local delicacies. The experience was refreshingly rustic, fully authentic and the hosts were warm, friendly and generous. Not to be missed!

Wonderful experience! Paul Bosh

What a wonderful, welcoming experience, a window into rural life and craft of cheese making. Virginia and her family were friendly and all aspects of the afternoon were great. Really enjoyed our conversations. The light lunch of homemade bread and produce from their farm was outstanding. Meekala the cheese maker was very sweet.

If you want to get to know the original country life of Portugal, then you are right with Virginia and her wonderful neighbor! We were warmly welcomed, lovingly hosted, took a beautiful walk on the farm and let us tell many interesting stories about the past country life while cheese made. The stay was completely successful and very very very very nice!
