Visit a dairy farm, milk a cow by hand, taste the milk, interact with a local farmer, and learn all about cows and dairy production.
The meeting point is at the Happy Kiosk next to the marina of the city of Praia da Vitória. From there, we go to the countryside along the paths used by farmers to observe the various breeds of cows used both in milk production and meat production. The various tasks related to milk production are explained, as well as the processes of production of feed for livestock. This tour is an excellent opportunity to contemplate nature and to photograph.
Once on the farm, you get to milk the cow and taste the milk, and you can also be with the cows in the field. We then proceed to the milk collection point, where we explain the process and watch the delivery of the milk by the farmers.
We spend some time in the rural areas of the island. Arriving again to the city of Praia da Vitória, we make a short visit to the most interesting places of the city. Finally, we have a cheese and wine tasting.

I made this visit with my family on our last day on the island. We decided to make an appointment because we thought it would be a fun experience for the children but, in the end, we all ended up surrendering not only to the beauty of the island, but also to the friendliness and professionalism with which we were received. From the island's history to the local flora and fauna, passing through the breathtaking landscapes, Mr. Vitor demonstrated an incredible knowledge of the island, as well as an enormous pleasure in sharing it with us. At the end, we were received by his friendly wife who had already prepared a table with cheese and wine (and juice for the little ones). It was a wonderful experience that I cannot fail to recommend to anyone visiting Terceira Island.
We had a wonderful experience! ! ! Vitor was our tour guide and he was knowledgeable on all things Terceira Island - from the island's history, to the architecture, to the animals and places to visit! We went on a 3 hour tour where he took us to a dairy farm - we milked cows (and drank it with cookies!). He then took us to the milk factory. Followed by tours to visit the island and teach us lots of fun facts! To finish off we had some local wine and delicious cheese! He was incredibly friendly and helped draw a map of all the best places to visit, eat and explore on the island! I recommend booking this tour! ! !
Five star review! Fantastic day, really great value for money. Milking cow experience, cookies, trip to a milk factory, sightseeing around the island, cheese, wine and great entertainment from a lovely driver. We didn't have a time limit so the driver took us extra time giving us a total of 4 hours tour. Definitely recommend!
Victor is an experienced and helpful guide. Unique experience with the cow, accompanied by an immersion in the history and culture of the island. Delicious tasting of local wines and cheeses in excellent company. Absolutely unmissable!
